Simple doesn’t always mean easy!
As part of my ritual project that I conducted over the past 21 days, I came up with some combinations that I felt would make great combinations in an exercise session. These are a few videos of one such combo.
The first video is of movement preparation I enjoy. The Animal Flow Form Specific Stretches. There are some specific details about each move that are not the place for a blog to inform you of, so I highly recommend you jump on an Animal Flow Level One Course to learn just how powerful these moves can be. Suffice it to say; you're welcome to try and imitate these moves, however, the subtle nuances to each stage should be learnt to gain the full benefit.
The Goal Based Movement, movements, are some oldies but goodies! Push-ups and KettleBell Swings. These movements are everywhere. However, we can make them even more powerful as well. One of the biggest ‘Ah Ha' moments I have had as a movement coach was learning the TRX Training understanding of performing a push-up. All of a sudden, the high reps I used to bash out become impossible. This feeling is hard to get across in words or a video, but there are ways you to can learn that info. KettleBells are in every fitness environment now, and the technique that is used is sometimes, less than desirable. So again, if you're going to use them, I encourage you to use them well. If you're a PT get educated on how to perform these techniques super well. If you're not a PT, you can get on the courses that will empower you to use these tools well! Ok, small rant over, now for the videos and suggested Goal Based Movement duration.
Perform the (or a) movement preparation first! Moake sure your body is ready to go through this (seemingly) simple program. I then suggest you perform ten push-ups, straight into 10 KettleBell Double Hand Swings, then… Repeat. I am also going to propose that you put 10 minutes on a countdown timer and get into it. You will find that the intensity is quite high, so perhaps save this little number for when you’re feeling great.
So that's ten push-ups, 10 KB Swings for 10 minutes. Feel free to post the results ;) As a reminder! TECHNIQUE COUNTS. Please do not just get through this; every rep needs to be brilliant J. If you’re struggling, stop, recover and when you feel ready, go again.
Take Care,
Chaddy
