The catalyst for this blog is a new location. Yep, I have moved. I have moved back to my home state, beautiful Queensland. I have moved for many reasons and to be honest, I am finding it hard settling in again. I am struggling a bit with motivation. Get myself started each day and finding a purpose for the day.

Enter this blog. I have been listening to podcasts from people such as Tony Robbins and Tim Ferriss for some time now, and both of them interview individuals who have achieved and or overcome great things. Most of the people they talk with have something of a morning ritual. That routine changes for each person, but the majority of successful people seem to have some form of morning practice that kick starts their day. Tony Robbins, for example, has a routine that includes a cold plunge immersion amongst other things.

To deal with my lethargy, I am going to, as Tony Robbins states ‘change my state.' He talks a lot about how a physical change in state can change the emotional change of state.

Now for the challenge. I have been toying with the idea of a morning ritual off and on for approximately a year now. Ever since I did the Level One Animal Flow Course last year, I have tried to do at least the form specific stretches as a morning get up and go. Alas, I have failed. I failed because I did not keep myself accountable. Today is the start of 21 days of accountability. It has been said that it takes 21 days to create a habit, so here goes! I will perform a physical morning ritual every day for 21 days starting today! This ceremony (I use that word very intentionally) will take the form of the Animal Flow Form Specific Stretches and another kind of short movement to get my heart rate going and my body moving. I have videoed today's instalment, which included some heavy kettlebell swings and some good old push-ups.

If you would like to join me in this ritual challenge, feel free to reach out to me and or post your pic’s or videos to FB. Your routine does not need to be the same as mine (feel free to pinch it for yourself if you'd like). If you choose to join in on this find something that you want, can and are willing to do every day for 21 days.

For more information on the power of rituals and changing your physical state to change your emotional state, I highly recommend; The Tim Ferriss and Tony Robbins Podcasts available on Itunes. I also recommend a friend of mine, Paul Taylor's website - https://ritualize.com

I would like to finish this blog with a quote I found recently while researching some meditation videos: “You can be happy for no reason.”
